While most assumed paper is the better choice – the more environmentally friendly choice, fact is it takes 14 million trees to produce 10 billion paper grocery bags vs. 12 million barrels of oil for 30 billion plastic bags.

Plastic bags are fully recyclable and the number of recycling programs and plastic bag collection bins are increasing daily. A recent national survey shows that over 90% of American reused their plastic bags. In addition to groceries, plastic bags for others uses labeled with recycling codes #2 (HDPE) and #4 (LLDPE) can be included wherever plastic bags are collected for recycling.
